Saga is middle sized with a lean, athletic build and great structure. In temperament she is very strong and balanced in her drives with excellent hardness and resilience, great nerves and exceptional clear headedness. On the field she has calm, intense tracking, focused obedience, and powerful protection showing great barking, full and calm grips, and hardness and fight drive toward the helper. At home she is a very easy dog with a fabulous off-switch and excellent house manners. Even as a young puppy she has always been easy to manage, non-destructive and happy to settle and relax with the family. She is open and social with all people and dogs, and is a playful, goofy, loveable companion.

Saga is 3rd generation Wildhaus bred. She reminds us a LOT of her dam, Isis v Wildhaus IPO3, OB1, TR1, RN, OA, OAJ, NF, CGC, TT, and grand-dam, "Raven" Caliber v Wildhaus SchH3, AWD2, PD1, P1, PA, T1, FO, UCD, URO2, CGC, TT. This is a very, very good thing as both of these females were exceptional dogs in every way; on the field, at home, and in the whelping box. They possessed excellent working ability in all phases, achieving not only SchH3/IPO3 but also a variety of titles in other sports and produced litter after litter with the same talent and versatility. Offspring of Raven and Isis are excelling in everything from SchH/IPO and other bitesports to police work, SAR, tracking, AKC obedience, agility, rally, dock diving... and the list could go on. They are also exceptional family companions and protectors at home.

Saga's sire, Glenn vom Haus Valkenplatz, needs no introduction. A multiple time Dutch Champion and podium placing WUSV competitor, he was the fan favorite for his power and intensity when I had the pleasure to see him compete at the 2013 WUSV. He was one of the few dogs there that really caught my eye and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to breed Isis to him a few years later. Glenn brought to the table not only his own remarkable qualities but also a pedigree full of excellent producers of strong GSDs.

Unfortunately our litter with Isis and Glenn only produced two puppies. Fortunately, Saga and her litter sister, Shade (who we also own), are both absolute rockstars and very, very similar to one another. We joke that they must actually be twins, not just littermates. We couldn’t be happier with how the S girls are following in the footsteps of their extraordinary ancestors both on the trial field and in the whelping box.
